Pain Management

There's become a bit of a stigma around the use of pain medication. It's easy to see how its misused. On the other hand, sometimes the pain is too much. To ask for help isn't a sign of weakness, you shouldn't have to suffer. My area as a Family Therapist is to provide emotional support, an outlet to express the hurt and explore new self care strategies. By doing so, research shows the therapeutic process can lead to changes in brain patterns that helps ease the pain. The sense of helplessness, the effects on mood, negative thought patterns, irritability and anger can keep us in a continuous state of suffering, verses having a pain management plan. Counselling can offer a means to self-empowerment, a feeling of being in control of your daily living. By the use of cognitive processing strategies, exploring new routines and supports can potentially lead to a letting go of suffering and living your life to its fullest. As someone who has been there a done that, I believe I have that to offer here at Rod Chant Counselling, serving Campbell River and the Comox Valley

My aunt was in and out of different clinic locations for years trying to deal with her chronic back pain, and I can still remember how frustrated she would get when receiving bill after bill that made absolutely no sense to her. Reading this article today has caused those feelings to come flooding back. Clear care is important; however, so is smooth administrative processes, and that is why pain management billing services in the USA need to receive significantly greater attention.
